i was doing a 2004 carrera turbo today, WOW. not too dirty, just pretty swirled. i used #2 at around 1200 rpm with a Farecla compound foam on the rough spots and scratches and then over everything with #3 at around 1500 rpm with farecla polishing pad. hand buff off, wax with #26 and voila, beauuuuuutiful finish. i couldnt have asked for more. and i cant wait to do his cayenne tomorrow... :hifive: :D ill add some pics tomorrow, it got too dark out for me to take decent photos of the finish.

well, turns out theres still some light swirling, this morning when the sun was out, i saw it...

but he doesnt care he just wanted it to be clean and shiny. there was also some light hologramming since i started to run out of towels to buff the polishes/wax off. how do i remove that??a quick pass with #9??

damn that is pretty bad. I dont think that combo worked good at all, but it can be fixed. 1500 rpm and a light cut pad light cut polish.

I thought you found the best combo?

Maybe i am missing something, but those look like swirls/spiderwebbing...

Its very reflective...pitty its still just a bit swirled up.

You'll need something a bit stronger than #9...maybe #80 or similar.

I think I would go get some spare panels @ the junkyard and practice. I'm trying to think of a positive way to say it, but can't. If I was that owner, I would be extremely disappointed. If you consider those light swirls and minor hologramming, I would hate to see how bad it looked before you started. Take a look at some of the before & afters in the extreme detailing contest to see what a car should look like when it's done.

My .02.

its because he wanted me to do it that day and it was overcast, my floodlight is broken and it was like 8:30pm almost dark. he wanted it clean and shiney so i just said ok. im getting a bottle of #80 today so ill fix it when i go back to do his cayenne
