So I'm cruising K-Mart on a Friday nite

OK, OK, so it was a Wednesday afternoon. Hey, I'm unemployed, what else do I have to do??:D

Anyway, I'm checking out the check out girl (who remembers that song?)......no.... wait, I'm checking out the car care aisle and what do I find?????

Remember this stuff???

pic_protect_ltn_18.gif

Thaaat's right, it's the famous Eagle One Interior/Exterior Protectant and it's at K-Mart.

Ya know the best thing about it?? It's only $4.19 a bottle!!

Let's do a little price comparo:

Pinnacle Vinyl & Rubber Prot. $19.95 for 16 oz bottle (ouch)

303 Aerospace $12.95 for 16 oz bottle

Z16 $12.95 for 16 oz bottle

EFBO $12.95 for 32 oz bottle

Vinylex $10.49 for 16.9 oz bottle

Meguiars #40 $8.95 for 16 oz bottle

Meguiars Endurance $6.95 for 16 oz bottle

So, my bruthaz and sistaz, you can see that one of the best tire dressings on the market is a helluva value. I can't speak for your local K-Fart but mine had about a dozen bottles on the shelves.

If you're looking for a fantastic rubber, vinyl, and plastic dressing, this stuff is great. And that price cannot be beat.

Happy Detailing!!!

What type of sheen does it have? Very Glossy? Natural? Is it appearance similiar to 303 ( $9.75 here) or closer to TW gel? Is it gummy? Endurance is not a problem. :wavey

I can verify that K-Mart has it in at least one other store. A couple weeks ago, I found the same E1 stuff at my local K-mart.

By the way, how does it look on the dash, and does it attract a lot of dust?

I just want to know one thing. Is this what life has in store for me? :nixweiss

I go off the "detailer deep end" and wind up "Cruising K-Mart on a Friday night?":sosad

I should probably just commit suicide now then....... :scared

No, no ,no..... not suicide. It ain't worth it. But my post does show you what happens to wayward detailers with no job, a few bucks in their pocket, and lots of time on their hands.

Of course I didn't mention the visits that day to WalMart, Target, Advance, Auto Zone, a hole-in-the-wall auto parts joint, Ace Hardware, and Pep Boys.

All in the search for........something. Hell, I don't know what I was looking for. I guess something new. Not only did I find the E1 stuff but also a few quarts of the "old" Mobil One Tri-Syn oil which is better than the new SuperSyn on the shelves now.

I'm not so sure about that. I don't think enough testing has been done on SuperSyn to make that determination yet. But I understand your concern, the flash point and pour point on the "new" stuff is lower. Oh, by the way, according to several credible websites and people at Mobil 1 the new SuperSyn still uses a synthetic group IV PAO base, not group III as rumored on some sites.

Yep, that happens all the time. I've spent a couple Saturday nights visiting every single car parts store and department store. Most of the time I never buy anything, I just have to look to see if they have anything new or different.

He! I do that also ... Walmart, sams, sears, and the local grocery store, the grocery store by my folks house ... I hate it when they decide to reorganize the store and then everything is in a different location ... the only place where I have bought something lately is Sears coz' they carry meguiars stuff ... all the others are mainly TW or worst

Sears has Meguiar's?? Uh oh, something else for me to check out. I was at Target today and they have Gold Class Rubber/Vinyl Protectant. Anybody know if that's any good?

Hey amgtorre, though Turtle Wax is abundant, they have some ok stuff. It's that Armor All that scares me.

Dang, you people are just like me! I frequent many stores in town! daily.

Have you gotten on the first name basis with the cashiers yet? I have. Kinda feels wierd when you walk up to the line and 3 people in front of you and the cashier looks at you and says "hey sam!" then everyone gives you this eat #$@$ and die look. Then again it kinda makes me feel good to have a hot blonde chick calling out my name every once in a while. :p
