I totaled my 05 acura TL in a accident about 3 weeks ago just got the new one in. I replaced it with the same car NHblack/ebony nav auto. The only PITA was that the regular detailer was a no show so they used the lot monkey to prep the car. which means I have to do a total prep to get rid of the incredible swirls he put on the car. you just can't win sometimes. He scrube off the portective stuff with a dirty rag I am sure. I have a pc. I think I may start with the SMR and see if that is too heavy then switch to the FI 2 what do you guys think. ( I know I should have told them to get me a prof detail after what they did at that point I just wanted off the lot) The regular detailer their actually did a nice job on the original car.

That's gotta be a drag, a nice new car with all that marring :(

I'd try the old "least aggressive first" approach, but I dunno about the 3m SMR *if* you're talking about the older-tech stuff with all the fillers (39009 or something like that..). I'd probably get a bottle of the new PI-3000 stuff.

The FI-II isn't all *that* aggressive, and you might need it anyhow. At least you're working with nice thick clearcoat. Just don't take off any more of it than you need to.

I ended up washing claying then using #2 then FI 2 swirls all gone. Selectivly using GEPC next up is the AIO and SG fortunatly it has been around 50 or so and clear this weekend so I am able to work outside. Pictures when done
