I have a 97 GMC truck with grey leather interior. the leather is in pretty good condition but, the passenger seat has about a 1.5" crack in it. it is not all the way through but it is still a problem. What can I do??

Is there a patch or something. or can I stitch it closed as to not have it rip more.

The drivers side leather is also getting old and cracked and the color is fading.
I do condition the leather regularly and i keep it very clean.

WHAT CAN I DO :dunno :dunno :dunno :huh

thanks for any help

Well, in my experience with leather is that once it starts to tear like that, your either going to need to get it recovered or get a new seat. Once its torn, there is really nothing that can be done to my knowledge. There might be some type of restoration now, but you might as well get that portion recovered.

Go to google and type in Leather Repair Kit, and see if one of those options might help. Not sure if I can post links to products on this forum.

Other than that, as the other poster said, it's attempt a repair, or replace the seat with a used on or recover. Since it's a small place I'd try the repair first, and then I'd start pricing used leater seats from the local salvage yards (many of their the seats will be in great shape).
