Very nice work, very impressive shine.
Was there any special reason you used Diamond Kote? How does that compare to GEPC and other paint cleaners? Where can you buy it?
When I purchased the car, they included a "Diamond Kote Package" free of charge. It included interior upholstery treatment, rust protection, and "paint protection" (probably just an application of Diamond Kote Paint Restorer).
When I used it the first couple of times, I wasn't nearly as educated about auto detailing as I am now. I was a one-step kind of guy back then. I remember it adding gloss and really smoothing out the paint, but it didn't last too long. So, after a lot of reading, here's my take on Diamond Kote Paint Restorer:
- very easy to apply and remove
- it seems to fill-in swirls rather than remove them; it doesn't feel very abrasive
- it adds a DEEP gloss to the paint
- paint feels really smooth after
Basically, I just wanted to use up the rest of the bottle so I can make way for DACP. I haven't tried GEPC but it seems as though it's quite popular with my fellow Autopian's.
As far as trying to get a hold of some of this stuff, I looked at their website (
http://www.diamondkote.com ), but it seems as though you can't order it online. Maybe their 1-800 number may help? If I decide to continue using this product, I will probably go to my car dealership and see what they can do for me (and I'll let you know).
