Been pretty busy lately, heading to Phoenix this weekend so I've been trying to get as much done here as possible before I go. First up, a 2013 Mercedes SL550 and a 2012 Cadillac SRX. Nothing major for either, just a basic full detail on the SRX and a basic exterior detail on the SL550. The SRX could use a 2-3 step process on the exterior but until the owner's new home is build with additional garage space, it sits outside 24/7 and is also used to haul grandkids around so this time, so extra polishing really isn't worth it at this point. The SL550 was in excellent shape, really no swirls or marring to speak of.

2009 BMW 330. I've been taking care of this one since new. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I detail it since the owner is moving to Houston. I've passed Mobile Jay's (fellow autopian) information along so his car can continue to receive proper care.



Other than compounding the hood once due to water spots, this paint has never seen anything more aggressive than Optimum Hyper Polish and its still swirl free after 4 years.

2004 BMW 330 and 2007 Range Rover HSE. The main issues with the 330 was overspray on the front end due to careless painters at his condo, along with buffer swirls that were on the car when he purchased it used. The Range Rover was just a basic (1 polishing step) exterior detail to provide paint protection through the winter months.

Meguiars M100 using a Meguiars MF cutting pad and Rupes 21 DA (BMW)

Optimum Hyper Polish and an Optimum MF cutting pad with the Rupes (both)

Optimum Metal Polish on exhaust tips (BMW)

2013 Porsche Carrera, owner bought it late last year, originally we were going to Opti-Coat it (we ran into each other at the mall during Christmas) but the day we set it up, it was snowing. Anyway, he kind of forgot about having the car done...until they were repaving a road near him and the crew waved his wife through and she ended up with tar down both sides and in the wheel wells. The city sent someone out to remove most of what is in the wheel wells but he didn't want them touching the paint. Since not all of the tar came out of the wheel wells and because he feels the city didn't adequately address the problem, he said to not worry about that and concentrate on the paint. Since it might require wheel well replacement and his wife wants to clear the front corner markers, he opted for a conventional detail this time and have me come back when the other work is completed to have it protected with Optimum Coating.

Other than the tar specks, the paint was in good enough shape that a single polishing step left it swirl free:

Raggtop Cleaner, followed by Raggtop Protectant (customer supplied) to clean and seal the fabric top. Nice products, have to pick some up.
