Skipping Rotary

Hey guys I have a De Walt Rotary and am very new at using it. I have Edge 2000 pads that are 8 inches. I also have one pad that is 5.5. I was wondering what I can do to prevent skipping when I am buffing. I am using pinnacle XMT polishes. Could those be the problem? Thanks

Could be any number of things.

One thing I have started doing recently is wiping the car down with alcohol after claying, and before polishing. This will remove any particles on the paing that may be grabby that could cause skipping.

well first i would start at a low speed until you get comfortable moving it around and getting the hang of it. next, i would use the smaller pads they are much easier to control. also try workin on a flat surface first, like your trunk to get the hang of it. hope that helps
