Ski Racks - Autopian Heresy? Suggestions?

I’m going to have to put ski racks on my car soon, and I would like to minimize any damage that I’ll be facing come spring. The rack is a Thule. As I recall from years ago, there were just on a few smudge marks or scruffs when the ski racks came off, but those were pre-autopian days. The cars has 4 or 5 layers of Zaino, which I hope will offer some protection, and the rubber pads will be very clean at the point they go on. Should I QD the pads before putting them on the car? :nixweiss

Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or suggestions?:)

I use a rack on my S4 and my BMW from time to time and have no real issues. I am a fanatic about keeping the rack and car clean and be sure the rack is adjusted to perfection so it doesn't shift or settle under load. When you are done, take it off immediately!

Make sure the pads are in really good shape, new and soft. You are unlikely to have problems.:up
