Does Black paint fade? Now before somebody pipes up and tells me that ALL paints fade, listen to my situation. I have a brand new black 3/4 ton Silverado. I am getting ready (per everybody's advice) to do the initial paint cleaning/protection/wax. For those that remember, I am a fishing guide and will have the truck in the sun a fair amount of time. I have to put my company logo and my sponsor logos on the truck. If I keep the finish maintained properly, will there be outlines of the logos when I remove them? I have the option of having the printers make the logos out of magnetic stock, will that help? I then can remove them for regular paint maintenance. I'm not worried about scratches, I can make sure that does not happen, but I cannot control the sun.

Thanks,

Well its true, they deteriorate with oxidation, however it can be greatly minimized with proper auto care. #1, you have black, and we all know black tends to absorb. Figure out a routine and try your best to stick to it. As for the logos and unequal fading, again, proper maintenance with sealants can greatly minimize all of the above.......
