should there be anything on the car after washing?

I wonder if i'm doing something wrong or nit picking (nit picking on a "detail" forum. That's funny). Anyway, I just washed the car using meg. gold class with a chenille wash mitt (2 bucket method) and dried using a big blue micro fiber towel from microfibertech.com. then used Eagle QD with the microfibertech elite towel. If I get on my knees (this is ridiculous, I know) and look across the hood, I can see what appears to be very tiny pieces of lint or something. It's not a lot, but it's there. I guess the microfiber towels are leaving something behind. It can't be the wash mitt since the car is rinsed off before drying. Is this normal?

I haven't looked for lint that way. Did you wash your microfibre towel with other laundry, that could have left lint on the towel?

Yeah, I do throw them in with other things. I thought lint would only be a problem if there were "new" cotton items in the wash. Maybe i'll try washing them by hand.

MY MF's (from several sources) have been washed separately about a half dozen times. They definitely do leave something behind that I can see on the windows. Had a previous post thinking my windows had been scratched.

Maybe it's just a MB thing.

I guess I would suggest washing your MF separate from your other laundry and then hang dry them to see if this helps at all. What type of wax/sealant do you have on the car right now? This might have an effect on the problem.

I've never had this problem with s100 so i'm guessing it's the towels you're using or the way you're washing them. I would definatly wash them seperate from clothes and towels.

Absolutely wash them separately. Detergent only......no bleach, fabric softener, or dryer sheeets. Plain-old Tide (liquid) works fine. I also vacuum out the lint collection trap on the dryer before I throw the microfiber towels in (again, by themselves). Low heat for a bit, then the towel rack overnight. Never saw the problem you're seeing........I also use p21S/S100, and my truck is black ......so it would be easy to spot (heck, everything else is!).

Cheers
