Im trying to decide if owning one of these is essential for getting the best results on paint finishes or if its ever a time safer?? when have you found your self reaching for this machine? I own a makita and dewalt and am wondering if I should add this to my set up.

Any one else? I need to hear what your thoughts are. I've been doing this for about a year only... is a da a must?

For just doing carpets alone, it's a must. Plus what BigAl said and to take out the holograms left by your rotary.

I use my rotary for corrections and my G110 for 1 polishing step details (not everyone cares about 100% swirl free paint) and for carpets.

Would you only have a couple of screwdriver and an adjustable wrench in your toolbox?

Like an array of compounds, polishes and LSPs, the Porter Cable is another tool in the detailing arsenal.

With the proper pad and polish you can get a 100% swirl- hologram-free finish with a rotary. The DA just makes it a lot easier. I don't know about you, but holding that rotary all day gets old.

Its not too bad if you only work on flat surfaces. The vertical panels are the killers. Maybe I need to workout more.

I've only used a rotary since day 1 one and kept a DA around for applying wax. Now with the recent technology change, I wouldn't be w/o one for correction. I love me PCXP.

The new PCXP is great, like having a old pc with another speed on the dial. Only complaint I have is that the new design doesn't like to sit flat when you sit it down, price you pay for rounding the corners.

just purchased one off someone on here, thank! Im anxious to see if I actually like this one, I purchased the old pc back when I first started doing details a year ago and had no luck. Im comfortable with a rotary but hopefully this will assist in some way.
