Should I get anything else? Prime/AJ?

I already have Optimum Compund (with orange pad), Optimum Polish (with white pad) as well as FPII (with black pad). This will be mostly used on dark colored cars.

Now i've been reading around and seeing what others are using and I noticed a lot of people are using Prime and AJ. What do these products do exaclty? does it just add to shine? Do you guys recommend investing in these 2 products or either or? or am I fine with what I have already or should I switch something up? oh and I already have a clay bar and wax too.

I tried doing a search, but couldn't find the answer I am looking for.

Any input would be great.

Well, looking at what you got, I would add the Prime and AJ, but also get the Acrylic Glos. It's nice to have some other products to switch over too. Prime is a good base for AJ, which is a great LSP.

is prime and AJ just for shine or does it do something else too?

Also, I haven't been able to find what LSP stands for.

Prime will further refine the paint by very lightly polishing it, plus it adds wetness and a acrylic protection. AJ adds even more acrylic protection and wetness plus improves depth.

I am not a huge fan of sealants on black, but Prime + AJ work well:

would you use a finishing pad or light polishing pad for the prime/AJ?

Should I even bother applying FPII if I go with prime/AJ?

and do I need to wax after applying prime/AJ?

Thanks for the help guys.

Blue pad from propel for applying prime PC at 3.5

Apply AJ by hand. I might go with trigger over AJ.

Depends on the look you want.

I've been wondering about this Prime stuff too. But i would venture to still go with FPII, then Prime based on pad and speed choice provided by gmblack3a), and finish with AJ. I would probably not wax based on Scottwax's pics.
