Duragloss 501 Short Take.

Duragloss Marine RV Polish #501

I was down in Florida visiting family, my father in law let me borrow his 2004 Camry to get from Tampa to Ocala. He is the original owner and last time this car was waxed was in 2007 when I used NXT by hand. This car has not been touched since, and it has been handed down to my wifes brother who has not kept it up and has etched paint down to the metal from bird bombs and baked on bugs…….I had 4 hours to dedicate so I gave it a quick detail. This was a challenge, and since I was doing this to say thanks. First I used Pinnacle Poly Clay to remove all the contamination. Then used DG 501 to clean the paint and remove oxidation, here I was really surprised, how well DG 501 cleaned the paint. I did four passes with the cyan pads, and finished with the tangerine pads with 4 passes also. The LSP on the car was Wolfgang Liquid Seal.

Just look at these pads!!!! This was after washing the car with Megs gold class/dawn, spraying the surface with Megs APC+, and claying!!!

I ran out of 501, so grabbed some DG 105 to finish off the roof of the car. It didnt clean as well, but still did a great job.

It was starting to rain so I had to wrap up quick, This car really needs to be repainted, but for now this will do for them.

Some after’s. Didn’t take many but the turnout was a lot better than I expected with limited supplies and time. The car had no reflection to extremely hazy before.

Overall the DG501 was easy to use, let it haze and remove effortlessly. DG 501 has found a sweet spot in my detailing arsenal and will be ordering more soon.

DG 501 is one of my favorite paint cleaners. I use it every Fall and Spring when I prep my boat. It does a great job of removing oxidation. I usually top it with 845.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the Duragloss lineup of car care products. I like Duragloss #501 a bit better than their #105 because it's a little more aggressive and can actually remove finish defects. I generally apply a coat of Duragloss #105 or Duragloss #111 as a last step sealant more maximum shine and protection...

Great to hear, did you get to polish off that case of Corona Beer also?

Hahaa, yea my parents had a get together at their house since me and my wife havent been back to FL in some time....Most of the guest are whiskey drinkers so the Black Label did get tapped out quick.

Cool, not too many folks talking about DuraGloss these day's and remember to order it from the Autopia Car Care Store because sometimes when you get it from a auto parts store it could have been sitting there for a long long time.

Just bought another bottle last night from ACC, and stocked up pads too. $4.66 for the flat pad:rockon :bigups
