I'm planning to order a few things to fill out my collection of detailing supplies. For now I'm filling in gaps that I have, and not replacing what I do have, since I am on a semi-limited budget at this time. I was looking at opinions on the items I'm picking up as well as replacement suggestions for the future.

What I'm picking up

Long lasting base wax/sealant (FK1000P, though not sure how long this stuff lasts, I'm hoping 4+ months, but would be happy with 3).

Cleaner (DJ Lime Prime Lite, thank you Cptzippy for this suggestion!)

Leather Upholstery Protection (Leather Master Protection Cream)

Applicators (3 pack of hand use CCS foam applicators, 1 each: orange, white and red)

What I have

Meg's UC and UP

Meg's Clay Kit

Meg's GC Carnuba+ Paste Wax (I plan to put this over the FK1000P/Whatever I get)

Meg's NXT 2.0 Liquid

Meg's UQD (Mainly for bird bombs, etc.)

Meg's Deep Crystal Car Wash

Meg's Hot Shine Tire Spray

MF towels, a few sizes and colors,

MF Washing Mitt

I'll be mainly taking care of a new car (should arrive next week, and I have instructed the dealership to *NOT* touch the outside of the car, unless there is damage from transport), so I don't see myself needing a whole lot of the UC and UP. The NXT will be for quick waxes, where I don't have the time or energy to do the paste (hoping that'll be rare, as I like the look of the paste carnubas). I'm hoping the DJ Lime Prime will be a good next step after claying (though not sure if the lite or regular stuff will be a better followup). The first things that I'll likely be replacing are the GC Wax, Car Wash, and Tire Spray (as they'll be the first things I see myself running out of). I am open to suggestions on everything, and am more than happy to order things in the future, I mainly went with the Meg's stuff because of time, and ease of obtaining for starter chems.

My post in the welcome section has a lot more info about my climate and car I'm picking up, though if anyone would like me to put a little more detail in this thread about those things, just ask!

Opticoat.... just do it, I didn't do my car when I picked it up and should have, now I just need to get off my tail and polish and apply....

Since it is a new vehicle you may want to take a look into Opti-coat also. With the proper prep work and proper application you will be good with just washes and maintaining for a long time.-Jamie

I do plan on getting some Opti-Coat for the wheels. But I'm new to detailing in general, and

a) Don't want to mess anything up by applying it wrong, or using bad technique, etc.

b) I am enjoying learning and experimenting with different products (especially LSPs), and have heard they really don't stick to Opti-Coat.

I want my car to look like new a few years down the road, but I want to have to work for it, it's my baby; my project. Thank you for the suggestion, but I'll pass... for now. ;)
