I'm planning on buying one soon I was planning on getting the Fein http://www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/...ur.htm?L+coastest+dfqr8161ffcf95cf+1105933199

which Jimmy Buffit has I've seen it and it's nice but I happen to look at sears and found this

http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/prod...ertical=TOOL&pid=00917037000&cat=Wet-Dry+Vacs

I don't know what the lift or noise level is on the sears but with the blower it has I wouldn't have to buy another piece of equipment to blow the water out of cars nooks & cranys after the wash

I would avoid Ridgid. While they work well they make a helluva racket.

I'm more impressed with my new Metro Vac. It's far more powerful and about 5% as loud.

I hope your joking. I was planing on the 6 hp pro line Ridgid. They also have a muffler to lower the noise.

 I find this statement to be inaccruate on the new Ridgid line. I haven't used their older product and I haven't tried some of the big buck vacs. I have recently purchased Ridgid's new commercial 6 HP vac and it's very quiet. I also have a Craftsman 6 HP and a Shop Vac 5 HP and hands down the Ridgid makes only half the noise of these other comparable HP vacs. I would highly recommend this vac. The Craftsman is actually a joke if noise or power is your measuring stick. The Ridgid is about $150 and worth every penny.

By the way the Ridgid not only uses a low noise motor but an external muffler as well. Even with the external muffler off the noise is so much lower than the other 2 brands I mentioned that it isn't even a contest. The Craftsman's noise level is actually the reason for me looking for the new vac.

What the hell are you talking about? Rigid is probably the best and definitive answer in Shop Vacs. The one I own isn't loud at all, came with all accesories (even a crevice tool), extra long hose, and was cheaper than the ones you are looking at. Would buy another one in a hearbeat.

"They also have a muffler to lower the noise."

I have that muffler-hardly works.

"My Rigid isnt loud at all"

My ears must be more sensitive. Even my wife complains when I have the garage door closed!

The ridgid probably sounds like any vacuum i have. But none of my Vacuum is 5HP. So i suppose that for a 5HP vacuum, the noise level probably isnt that bad

I have used an old Rigid Vac and the second I turned it on, I then turned it off. It was INSANELY loud.

I recently bought a new Rigid Vac and it is awesome. Yes it makes noise, but not too much. It came with a muffler but I dont think its necessary for regular use.

The metro vac does look very nice, but its not sutable if you need the wet/dry feature.

Hope this helps :D

I use the Shop vac hang up pro, with my mobile trailer. I guess I never had a noise issue with the vac. since my generator drowns all the noise from the vac. Now if I could only quiet the generator. (All calls made for an aftermarket muffler that is quiet-er went unfounded)
