Shipping wheels?

I did a search, but it returned no relevant results...

Can anyone detail the procedures for shipping a set of 16x7 wheels, about ~20lbs each? My main issue would be getting proper boxes...

Boxes are always the biggest problem when you are trying to ship wheels and tires. First I would check the local wheels and tire places to se what they have laying around. Alot of people buy wheels and have them put on their car because they themselves are too lazy, so those places will likely have some boxes laying around. If that fails you can always go to the UPS Store and buy some, they about about 20 sizes of boxes.

This is exactly what I'd do. They will have the proper double-walled boxes to get the job done. I'd think they would give them to you @ no charge.

I had to ship four wheels cross country and I took it to UPS where they boxed them up individually and shipped them, no problems. They put them in a box that fits nicely but maybe too tall, then they have a tool that slits the edges so they can hold them over to make a nice tight fit.

How much did they charge you?

I have shipped about 7-9 sets of rims and tires. I just cut circles out of pizza boxes and use packing tape on the fronts and backs to hold in place (only need to cover the rim). I then write the address right on front. Being the weight they are, shipping companies actually like the option of rolling them.

Never a problem here.
