Whats up everybody? It's time to update my website a little and get a nice logo for it too. I have decided on a shield type logo and I've been playing arround with Microsoft Paint :hairpull and made some rough drafts from it, so I was hoping that some of you fancy Image Composer, photoshop guru's could help a brother out?

Here is what i am going for, but I was limited by my knowledge of photoshop and image composer.

Thanks in advance!

Do you know any designers? I would start localy if you can. A college kid would love to take on something like this. Call up a local university and ask if they have any one willing to do the work for cheap. I bet you could get a complete stationary system designed by a junior/senior for $100.

Outsource it to India or the middle east. It's about 8-9x cheaper and the quality of work and communication is just unheard of stateside unless your somebody worth pleasing.

Elance | Hire experts to do your work: outsource to companies, consultants and freelance professionals.

It'll cost you about $50-$100 for one that would cost $1000+ in the states

Outsourcing to other countries with cheap labor makes sense in certain situations; usually very large companies that are looking for significant cost savings to gain a competitive advantage. In this situation, it makes zero sense.

If creating an image for a company cost $100 as opposed to $1000 it makes perfect sense as long as you're happy. If anything $900 for a sole proprietorship business makes all the sense in the world.

I am all for saving money, however, in this type of situation it is worth it to be able to communicate directly with a local designer; not to mention, supporting the local economy.

I agree, I am sure there are plenty of college kids willing to make a little side money. No need to get this type of job done overseas, lol.

Supporting the local economy is a very good reason to not outsource.

Yet outsourcing can be done for the smallest things. You can outsource having articles written, scheduling appointments, etc. It's the same exact thing as having a person sitting down next to you as long as you have Skype and a webcam. It saves you insane amounts of money.

When someone's starting up a company, him keeping $900 to put towards other things will still help the local economy.

You'd better bet if I were starting all over again and I could spend $100 instead of $1000 I would.

It all depends on what the money is being spent on. In the case of a logo, it is important to get a quality product that you really like. I just think this is not a good example of what you should outsource to save some money.

If you aren't doing it yourself you are outsourcing. $10,000 or $100, it doesn't matter.
