Share tips on how to Clean and treat convertible tops!

For cloth 303 fabric cleaner followed by 303 fabric protector is a good combination. You can get the pair for $20 from our sponsors. I've also heard wonderful things about Raggtop products.

If you have a vinyl roof then a good APC, diluted about 10:1 to 15:1 works great for cleaning. For a dressing use 303 Aerospace protectant and buff off well, you can also use any other vinyl dressing.

You can wash a soft top like the rest of the car. I would recomned using a soft brush as the top will tear the mitt apart.

Having said that. Fabric tops do have a coating on them to prevent water from getting in. Everyonce in a while this needs to be replensished. Its not somthing that needs to be done every time.

For this ragtop makes a cleaner and sealent type thing. It works really well

I know 303 also makes a similar product but I have never tried it.

I have used and I am very, very happy with the results of Ragg Topp....they have cleaners and conditioners for both material and vinyl tops.

They are not the cheapest on the market but the customers are always blown away by the results, as I am as well!!

Material

Wash with the cleaner, using a very soft bristle brush to get things loosened up, rinse and dry...I like to wait for about an hour so that I know its real dry...then with my shop vac and a brush attachment...I go over the top to make sure that I have picked up every thing like dust, lint, etc that is sitting on top...then spray on the protectant let dry if its in bad shape I put on a second coat...then after that is dry I go back over with the shop vac and brush attachment to clean up any residue....tops look new again!

Vinyl

Is the same as above but I do not use the shop vac...with the dressing I make sure to apply let dry a minute then buff to make sure its even and then let dry.

Both of these are my go to product for rag tops
