SEPC &/or #5, and in what order?

In detailing my new car, should I use SEPC before # 5 (to be followed by s100), or vice versa? Or does using one make using the other redundant?

Thanks for your help.

Couldn't wait any longer for the answer, so I nixed the #5 and am just going to use the SEPC -- hopefully in about half an hour, in fact! :D

I'm not going to delete the thread though, in the hope that somebody replies with the answer, for next time. :)

TIA,

Although #5 says "quick polish" it's basically a glaze (IMO), so it should go after the SEPC. The SEPC seems to do a better prep, although it's fairly mild too. Not sure if you've used it before, but it won't get out scratches or anything major.

Hey Bigleegr!

Thanks for your reply. :)

I haven't used SEPC or anything else before -- this was my first go. With my other cars, I used to either wand wash them or use dish soap to wash them, and take them to a detailer every once in a while. :o I got this new car about a month ago, had it detailed, and then -- thank God and woohoo! -- found Autopia :D .

Anyway, I didn't count the hours I spent on the car yesterday (wash, clay, wash, SEPC, & s100), but though they were many, they weren't "long" -- I was really enjoying myself! I finished when it was dark, and it's drizzling here today, so I'm impatiently waiting for a sunny day to gaze and gloat. I'm planning on laying on another 2 coats of s100 (at least 24 hours apart).

As far as I could see, there were no swirls or scratches. The Mazda Titanium isn't the easiest paint to detect defects in, however (I'm not complaining! ;) ). I hope my ministrations yesterday didn't introduce any. :scared

I decided to go just with the SEPC because the label says it sets the paint up for the s100 and I didn't want to #5 over it, in case it was counterproductive. Also, it seemed to me the car didn't need both, and that using both was unnecessary. But what do I know (answer: not very much! :LOLOL

Anyway, thanks again for answering my question.
