Semi-OT, polishing computer case

My brand new Laptop got some scratches on it's case. Upon reading some threads referring to polishing cell phones and the like, wondering what I could use to polish these out? It is a Gateway 6510GZ with a silver finish. Heck, it may not even be able to be polished, but I thought I would try, thanks
