Seeking Suggestions for Pollen Cleanup

Howdy Y'all,

Well, back from a week of incredible snowboarding in Vail! It was so awesome for an end of season run! :woot2:

Now for the reality: pollen hell! (see pics attached) :bawling:

In the time we were away, the pollen monsters attacked my G35 and SC430. So, not being a many-seasons-of-detailing veteran, I wanted to ask for any input on how to get my ladies back in good shape.

FYI: I'm in the Southeast. Yeah, I know that pollen time probably isn't over. But, I wanna get the cleanup started and not let the nasties do more damage.

Thanks for all your wisdoms,

Ian

In terms of getting rid of it now, just make sure to do a good powerful spray with water to get most of it off before you get to scrubbing with a mitt. Most of it should come off if you have a good layer of protection underneath. As for preventing it from sticking so much in the future, go with a sealant which is better at deterring it as compared to a wax which tends to attract dust, pollen, and the likes.

I'd say powerwash that car thoroughly. Use lots and lots of soap & 2 buckets and be gentle when using your mitt. Rinse your mitt very frequently.

Power wash rinse. Wash with a mitt and finish with FK 425 QD after. That should help keep the accumulation down and also help release it when it's time to wash again.
