Seeking Detailing Business Opportuninty

I am looking for a detailing business opportunity in the central NJ area. I have been in the consulting field for over 20 years and would like to find something else to be involved. Although I am not a professional detailer, I do very much enjoy working on my own cars and occasionally those of my family.



If anyone can point me in the right direction to find this opportunity, I would appreciate all assistance. Also, if there is a more appropriate forum to post this message on, please let me know as well.

I would start off by attending a school to learn the detailing ropes.

After that, I would practice practice practice.

Learn the business side of it, along with all regulations for your state.





Are you going to be looking at a fixed location or a mobile setup?
 
Thanks for the advice. Ideally, I would like to do this as a joint venture/partnership with someone who is experienced. This could be buying in to an existing business or start-up. I would prefer a fixed location with pick up and drop off service and eventually a mobile set-up to handle the corporate wash and wax opportunities, but would consider all options.
 
I'm in the process of negotiating a purchase for a local car wash here in Bergen County, NJ. They detail but i would need someone to do off site details. Where are you located? This is near parmus, NJ.
 
I'd like to join this opportunity in some way or form. I need to find a way to get more customers so I can have less free time, especially over the summer. I think adverstising is the most important thing for this business and I have not been too good at getting word of my services out to the public.
 
David: I am in Monmouth County. Are you going it alone on the car wash or looking to possibly partner with someone? Let me know if there is any interest and we can talk offline.
