Securing mats when using extractor

For those people who use an extractor to clean carpets and floor mats, how do you secure the mats in place so you can clean them? I'm thinking about buying some alligator clips, like those used at self-serve car washes, and mounting them to the door of my trailer. I'm looking for alternate or better solutions from people who have tried several methods and have come up with works best for them.

HellrotCi- Check out Top-of-the-Line. They offer the clips that carwashes use, or at least they used to. And Irene and the other folks there are good people.

When extracting I pull all the mats out and clean them first since they are usually the dirtiest. I just put them on my tailgate and hold onto them with one hand. When I'm done I put them on the ground as I work on the interior. They are usually almost dry when I'm done extracting them so when I'm done the interior the mats are usually completely dry.
