Seats and carpet question

So when you guys do seats(cloth) anybody really shampoo them? I have never done it due to the fact I had a supervisor once tell me that once you do that is brings all the dirt from the foam to the surface. But I saw how david f powerwashed and how awesome they look. Safe to do by hand with a shop vac?



And I have been doing carpets by hand using a milder apc and febreze as shampoo and using the shop vac. But for real heavy stains I hold the nozzle of the hose to the stain by the shop vac to flush. Any better ideas?



And some reccomendations for leather cleaners?
