Seatbelt strap soiled

Hi, I have been able to clean pretty much everything on the interior of a 2003 Mercedes with the exception of the seat belts. They appear discolored, perhaps from the oily hands of passengers putting them on (?). Anyway I have tried APC's and scrubbing galore. Does anyone have any suggestions how to restore soiled seat belt straps? Thanks, Rick

I would suggest using something mild so as to not weaken the fabric. Some have suggested bleach but I am afraid that bleach would weaken the fabric and make the belts unsafe.



I use Woolite or a mild APC like Charlie Soap APC. They don't always come perfectly clean but I tend to err on the side of caution with seatbelts.



Make sure to fully dry before retracting into the belt holders.
