Scratches in door handle "well"

I am not sure if there is a term for the area of the car body under the door handles, particulary those types of door handles that are not flush with the body of the car. I will call them door handle "wells" for the purpose of this message. I have noticed that, over time, these "wells" get scratch/swirl marks in them very easily. I suppose this occurs from the paint being rubbed by the hand (whether gloved or not). Or, even worse, from holding car keys in the same hand as the one opening the door. My question is: what product to use in this area to remove the scratches/swirls? You cannot get a PC, Cyclo, or rotary in this area so the product would have to be applied by hand. Is something like Scratch X ok to use?

ScratchX works perfectly for the door handle areas. It took care of most of the small scratches on my white SS paint by the driver's side door handle.

Another vote for ScratchX by hand here too. This is my go to for any troublesome areas that I cant get 4 inch spot pads into.

Yeah, scratches there drive me nuts. Funny how my wife and I never cause 'em, but other people open the door *once* and scratch it

On the Audis, I have to use 1Z Ultra/Extra for the deep ones, but can usually fix things with PI-III RC (05933) by hand if I spend enough time at it (with the hard clear, it can take a *very* long time). I then follow with PI-III MG and finally 1Z Pro MP. I use a plush MF for both application and removal.

They make static-cling plastic protection pieces (which should only be used over factory paint) for spots like this.

ScatchX here too. Mostly its cause by finger nails, i.e. females, polished nails, sometimes with color transfer.

Only done this once but Menzerna IP by hand using mf pad and light-med pressure took out a small circular scratch on my hood where a PC could not reach. IP by hand did not leave any haze nor mark.

Yet another vote for ScratchX - exactly the fine scratches it seems best at. Don't forget to follow up with some wax.

In my experience it's the nails (mainly female!) that do the damage.
