hey guys,

can i use scratch x with my pc with an orange pad? i have some light swirls to take care of, using scratch x by hand doesnt do justice. and i dont want using too abrasive.

thanks alot

I wouldnt. I would buy a polish (Optimum Polish, Sonux SFX-2, Poorboys, etc) and take it from there. If you have light swirls, try a white pad 1st and move or down the scale if need be.

I haven't tried it but if you already have ScratchX and a polisher then try it. ScratchX is mild enough to do by hand so as long as you follow normal procedure then you should be fine. If they really are light swirls, then ScratchX should lift them out just fine by machine.

I would have to disagree. I'm almost certain the instructions indicate hand application only. Double check on the instructions beforehand.

Latest version of scratch X for use by hand or DA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the answer is yes you can give it a whirl .

I've done it with a PC and did not experience any problems at all, however I only used scratch X on one section just to experiment.

Hello

Let me also comfirm to you; the old version could also be used by DA, however it had a tendancy to clog the pad alot. This isnt the case with the new version.

Often there tends to be a lot of confusion with products, some of it isnt always true as is the case with Megs. I would highly advise you ring the customer care help line that is on the package or check on the Megs site, there are lots of threads and photo guides on how to use this product.

Enjoy!

IF you have something lighter than a orange pad I would use first to see if it handles the problem. The new version of Scratch X is formulated to use with a DA. I have used it a couple of times and seemed to have good results. But I would try a white pad first on setting 4. If it doesn't work go back down to the orange pad. I haven't found it to be an extremely aggresive polish though.

I already tried it with white SFX-2 pad and UDM and it was great.I don't now if the hardness of paint matters in that case.
