Scratch x vs. new paint

I have a small question here.... I wonder if you could use scratch x on new paint to remove a few body shop induced scratches and provide some small level of protection... Or does scratch x contain any type of wax that could prevent the new paint from "breathing"....

Scratch X cannot be used as a wax. It is a mild abrasive with fillers. And works very good, from my experience. It should be safe to use on new paint. After the scratch has diminished to your liking, follow up with the wax of your preference.:xyxthumbs

Check with the body shop and find out how long they recommend you wait before applying a wax or sealer, it's usually 30 - 90 days. Keep the paint gently washed and reapply a glaze to add some protection until then.

Read the following thread and check out the post by Accumulator on polishing fresh paint, he offers some good tips/products:

eliot ness, can scratch x be used as a glaze??

No, I really don't think so, I'm just not sure what ScratchX leaves behind. If you can get some Meg's #80 (Speed Glaze) it will both polish and leave a glaze on your finish. Just be careful when using it on fresh paint as Accumulator points out in the thread I supplied a link to.
