Scratch X and a Cyclo

Just got my new Cyclo it works GREAT !

I had repaired some rock chips and sanded them down

with 2000 grit then polished out with scratch X. This worked

it took a lot of times and a lot of pressure. My car has other

scratches on it and I did the whole car with scratch X.

I would like to use something that would cut better than

the scratch X for the whole car that would require less pressure

and time working an area.

I used a yellow pad with the scratch X.

Thanks, Kevin

Yeah, Sratch X is very mild when used by machine, but was definitely a good choice for trying out a new method (Cyclo). The last thing you ever want to do is use an aggressive procedure with new tools. Learn how to use your tools, and then do what it takes to make it happen. Good job!

Congrats on the new Cyclo by the way. When it comes to cutting/heavy polishing, the Cyclo is the only way to fly.......aside from a rotary, but I'm still afraid of mine. :nervous:

I just recently sanded my hood (Black 05 Mustang GT). Wet sanded starting with 1500 and then finished it with 2000. I tried an Edge Yellow pad and some Zaino ZPC. Although it looked good it was taking too much pressure, on a setting of 6 and too many passes to get through the scratches. I then ordered some Optimum Compound and Optimum Polish. I have to say it worked great, less than 2 minutes at high speed and a few passes and the hood looked brand new with only minor hazing. Using the polish I found that the same techique (high speed and a few passes) yeilded the final result I was looking for. No sanding scratches left over, no hazing, no webbing. It finished off great with some Zaino Z2-Pro sealant.

So, a good cutting pad and some nice product did the trick. As for Scratch X, I tried it by had and swore after 4 to 5 hours of hand buffing I would never use it again. But, that was my only expeience and it may well have been my process and not the product.
