scratch guard coat

hmm... and water repellant, no less!

It is a marginally professional Press Release, perhaps not as one would expect from a multi-national corporation. I would expect some 'collaboration' from the various paint manufacturs... Research does not happen in a vacuum

Show us some additional validation... Remember, anyone can post to the internet.

Ah, I understand clearly now. It’s a self healing paint that only needs some hot water for repair.

Well if this stuff is true I'd love to get a coat of it put on my Honda Accord, considering how easy it is to damage Honda paint. I doubt it would be possible though as I figure Nissan will want this to be a Nissan thing only.

Well if I read properly it is applied with the clear coat. Not an after paint product. I wonder how acceptive to paint correction/detailing this product is.

Just noticed this was released overseas on the 2005 X-Trail (meaning it came out in 2004). I'd think that if this was the next best thing, it would be all over the place (at least on high end Infiniti vehicles) now if it had lived up to its claims/hype.
