Scottwax Approved Wash Media?

I placed my order for ONR and went to go buy what I think Scottwax uses. I went to Big Lots but they didn't have anything. I ended up getting the microfiber covered foam pad from Target.

Is this what I want? Sorry for the big picture.

I personally use either: a microfiber wash mitt, a synthetic lambs-wool wash mitt or a grout sponge (the latter both Meguiar's). Really any high quality mash mitt/sponge should be fine, how does this one feel? Does it pass the CD scratch test?

It's VERY soft and passed the CD test with no problems at all. I just wanted to know if anyone has used one like this before with ONR.

Why do some prefer mf sponge over towels? The towels would seem to be a better choice, as it's easier to remove dirt from them (i.e., able to fold in half and rub the two together to dislodge it)....sponge, not so much so.

That Vroom pad one looks pretty nice. How much was it? Most of Vroom microfiber products that I see at Target are all high quality stuff, made by Microtex, a Korean microfiber manufacturer.

A little over $3 after tax, not bad!

I use Uber Green towels, so really any nice high quality super shaggy MF. No marring, cleans like a champ, releases dirt easily, goes in the laundry. :) I use three to do a car usually.

Heh heh, everyone is chiming in *except* for Scottwax :chuckle:

I would imagine it has to do with the way the sponge (inside the MF) can hold a lot of wash solution...sorta like the way I *fill* my mitts with solution. More solution generally being better than less for a host of reasons.

I bought a couple based on his review and have to say they are my fav media for ONR. The ones I got have enough nap to get into seams and they hold a lot of water. Bonus is you can flip them 3 or 4 ways before you re-dunk. A MF towel means you spend more time folding, etc.

I will have the Megs MF washmitt on order soon, but for ONR, the MF sponge because it holds the liquid better?

I may have to look into that for rinse free washes this winter.

Awesome, I'm glad you've had great results, I feel much better now!

I use the same one for ONR and have experienced great results. I think Scottwax uses the same one except in blue.

Perfect, I'm really looking forward to using it! My order should be in tomorrow!!

I have been using the Vroom microfiber sponge since I recently switched to ONR washes. Works great, releases dirt well. No problems with it yet. Time will tell how long it will last.

I bought two today as well! They feel very very smooth and soft, and there's no reason they would marr a paint surface. The Meguiar's white MF washmitt in comparison feels very rough to the touch in comparison...

I also bought a wash sponge for $1.50 from Walmart that is supposed to create a lot of suds from washing.
