Scotchbrite Windshield Scratch

I used scotchbrite on some bird dropping on my windshield and now the scratches will not come out. I have used a Mothers polish applicator on a drill, Several brands of scratch remover (for paint),paint polishes, 600 grit emery paper and steel wool-0000 grade....no change. It is only a spot two inches in diameter. Any ideas?
