Scotch Guard For Twill Top?

I inherited two large spray cans of Scotch Guard. Do you think it's safe for a light oak twill top? In the past I've used RaggTopp but it seemed to wash out after a few washings. This is a new top and whatever water proofing it came with is already gone after three washings (and some rain)

Three washings against 'RaggTopp' and you think it washed out ... seems a little too fast for my experience. What are you using to wash with, and at what strength?

I apply RaggTopp about once every 5 to 7 washings, but only light applications for maintenance - I'm sure I could go longer.
