I read in another post that someone found cotton mitts at Napa. So this evening I cruise by a Napa and sure enough, they got em'. As the photo shows, they are 100% cotton. At 8x14", they are a pretty good size too. The back of the package indicates they are also made in the USA. The cost was $5.79 so I picked up three of em'.

I remember reading that review. This mitt is larger than the 10", I did see that one. I have not washed with it yet, although I did wash it out in the sink to prep for use. I don't care for the cuff either, but I always turn them in out of habit. I will have to keep an eye on the backing when washing to see what happens.

I normally use a sea sponge, but I didn't want to order just a sponge and pay shipping

Thanks for the heads up! :xyxthumbs

Yeah they do make different size of that particular mitt, hopefully your expierence will be better than mine was. Let us know how it comes out. :xyxthumbs

I purchased the same NAPA 100% snow white cotton mitt a few months ago and was sorely disappointed with the quality. The major gripe I had with it was that it was FULL of tiny black cotton seeds. After testing it out, sure enough it left plenty of tiny spiderwebs. Thankfully, it wasn't my car I was using it on. Nevertheless, it's collecting dust on the shelf now.... Plus the stitching is rather poor IMO... Maybe yours will be better but mine was total crap...but it was cheap too, so no big loss, and certainly no gain.

but mine was total crap

Did you read my review Mike? I tested them a while ago and came to the same conclusions as you did. The only good part was mine didn't have cotton seed in it. :)

Hey SL,

Yup, I read your review, and it's right on! Actually, I think I disliked the mitt a little more, because IMHO it's below average as far as quality goes. I bought the larger sized version actually, but they had the small ones at the time also. Best I remember, when I bought mine, they were running a sale on those mitts for like $2 to $3 bucks, can't exactly remember. I thought what the heck since it was so cheap, but I guess I should have spent it on a milkshake or something instead. You are right though, out of the package it felt sooo soft, but after it was wet it was like night and day. Felt kinda rough and course with very little plushness. It was like it went limp or something after soaking it... Maybe they have a different or better batch now, but IMHO it's a complete money waste....certainly not up to Autopian standards. YMMV
