Scheduling dilemmas

I've ran across specific situation multiple times while scheduling customers.



Happens either of these (2) ways;



Someone calls and leaves a message asking when my next availability is or, I don't have my planner with me and promise to call them back ASAP. I call them back giving them an exact time I can work for them.



While awaiting conformation, I get another call asking when my next availability is. I'm faced with either filling a spot which has about a 50% chance of already been accounted for. Or I can tell them I'm three weeks out and risk losing the job.
 
dont leave messages....i only say "hi this is eric with _____ please call me back so we can schedule a date to get your car looking its best again!"



that will solve your problem because then its first call, first serve! I fill up with only confirmed details, not the maybe's. I say i cant hold a date open for you longer than a day for you to figure it out....and if someone is on a maybe schedule, and someone else calls and confirms, then I will call back the maybe and inform them of other possible dates open still...
 
Get a new phone!





Just tell the second person that calls you that you do have an opening this week but another person is confirming the time and make sure thier schedule allows it, If they dont take that slot I can put you in there or I can schedule right now for 2 weeks from now and if things change I can pencil you in for thier time.
