heres my latest ride.its been alot of work but having a pro street car has been a dream since i was a kid .. oh yea it hauls serious butt ..the guy working on the motor on the outside picture is my friend mickey clark .. he and my friend brian helped on this project and they have both had pro streeters and helped me avoid alot of problems with thier experience . they also wouldnt let me buy cheap parts and im glad i listened .. summit and jegs got a nice chunk of change ...

I haven't seen a Vega in a long time. The last one I was in caught on fire as my father and I were on our way home. It was a little colored blue as I remember it.
 
thats me .. and the motor is a 030 over 350,11.1 cr.. clay smith cam with 550 lift 235 dur and 108 lobe centers .. this thing really has a very nasty idle ..edelbrock rpm heads . rpm airgap intake with 2 in spacer and 750 double pumper . elec water pump and fan . trans is a glide w/5500 stall and trans brake . 4.30 gears w/spool .. it is an e ticket ride ... all aluminum interior is very loud but really lets you experience this beast to the max .i sold the truck and el camino to pay for this

you sold your red truck? what are you using to get around in?
 
im driving a new saturn ion . man i sure miss my truck sometimes . it went to norway . some guy bought it from me on ebay.the vega launches like a rocket . hit the trans brake button. floor it. let off the button and hang on for dear life trying to keep this beast from ending up in a cotton. field.living in the country is great because i just head out of town and have fun without getting in trouble or possibly endangering others . i dont street race and around town i just idle around

Sure loved your old truck...that thing was perfect. I miss my old C1500...they look perfect with a nice drop kit and wheels.

im taking it to famoso raceway in july ..the previous owner went 9.40 1/4 mi w/ 406 motor on lots of bottle..so the car is proven . im hoping high 10 sec run on motor . low 11 sec would be fine too . thats still real fast
 
heres some shots with the 406 on spray. me and greg anderson are talking about getting the vega in the 6 second club

Ron,

You bring back fond memories. I had a Big Block Ford in a Pinto Wagon that ran high 9's and a full bodied 70 Mach 1 that ran low 11's here in the thin air of Utah. I would just bolt a set of circle track slicks on the Mustang and turn on the juice.
