Sam's MF 12 Pack

Mmmph

Mad Detailer
I've been waiting for these...The Sam's equivalent of the Costco MF towels.

The Sam's shelf label listed them as "Unitex" brand, but I did not see this name on the package.

The package states:

Detailing Solutions

by Sunset Products, Inc.

12 pack 16"x16" towels

They're Yellow and made in China...70/30 blend.

Much nicer than the Concordia/Microtex towels.

All this for...$7.86 (That's 66 cents each)

Scratch test?

Passed

Linting?

None yet

Labels?

PITA to remove

Hmmm, mebbe I'll buy'em all up and sell'em on eBay for $14.99 each! :scared

Thanks for the pic. Our Sams still doesn't have them last time I checked. :(

Are they in the automotive area, or the cleaning supplies area?

They work awesome for me also. You cant beat that price anywhere. I have used for for anything from product removal to exhaust tips. They seem to work really for on everything. I did have to wash them a couple times first because of a really bad linting problem. I saw you didnt have that though. I tried them on glass first to see if there was a linting problem and it was bad. I wahsed them a couple times and the problem was gone.

Great value!!!!!!

I saw those the other day, but wasn't sure about em, so I passed. Decided to wait until I read a review on Autopia :) I'll be sure to pick some up next time I'm there though!

Yep...Auto section. My Sam's had infinite cases of them.

In Re Linting; I tested on glass. too. Actually, my CRT, which is loaded with static electricity and picks up lint like an electromagnet. No lint from this first batch I bought.

They are a major step up from the Concordia/Microtex towels.

Those labels, though...Yechh:angry

Long term value remains to be seen

those look identical to the Costco ones, except the packaging is different, they even have the same hole to feel the product :dunno:

I bet they are similiar to the costco ones, same package and everything. Even the hole like HotRodGuy said is there.

Does the towel tag have a company name on it?

How do they compare to the cheap Walmart MF's????

Those are the Concordia/Microtex towels

Much nicer...Definitely a step up.

The loop tag sayson one side:

"70% Polyester

30% Polyamide"

The other side says

"Rn #79536

Made in China"

I'd guess the Rn# is the run number of fabric lot/dye job.

I'll add that yes they do look exactly like the Costco ones I bought.

About the labels, they are very easy to remove. You just rip them off.

So far, I've been using them as polishing cloths and not much else. I put a few in my glove box to carry around, just in case I need to dust inside my car for whatever reason.

These things are so inexpensive, it's almost like buying a bunch of fancy rags. Oh wait, they are fancy rags. :)

I think I might pick up some more this weekend.

You took the words out of my mouth. When I saw them I made a mental note to post it on Autopia to see if anyone had used them yet.....sure enough, I forgot all about it when I got home.

:up :up :up

It's not easy being a trendsetter...;)

Behold the power of discount MFs!

For the record, I also posted about WalMart MFs first, too.

If I had a Costco near me, I'd have scooped Autopia on those, too!

I saw these but was a bit concerned about the Made in China label. Don't we want Korean fiber?

Or are these okay for general use?

Have you guys noticed any linting w/ either the sams club or costco towels? The batch I got from costco lints like no other. I wonder if I just got a bad batch, but you rub it on a cd and the cd gets covered w/ lint that's nearly impossible to pull off.

On a side note though, there isn't any scratching.

I get no lint from the towels I have from Costco. I have purchased 5 packs on different occasions and a couple different stores.
