Sam's Auto: 1997 15th Anniversary Red Toyota Supra Turbo

This car was a blast to do. The owner of this car is very meticulous about his car, and wanted me to work on the car before my 3 month tour of Asia. I can see why, the paint is still original and it's the 15th anniversary edition. It was a single stage red paint, and he wanted it perfected, while still leaving an ample amount of clear coat on the paint.

On the initial inspection, it looked like I had to go aggressive with the paint.

Most of the car looked had these webbing around:

The car came to me pretty clean from the beginning, but I wanted to make sure all of the wax and any protection was stripped before I started. I foamed the car down with CG CGW 2oz solution and washed with 2 bucket method afterward.

Then I taped off the fender section and used my first pass with 85RD and a blue pad:

It wasn't strong enough and still had some rids, so I upped the aggressiveness with a LC white pad + PO106FA:

This was a better combo, so I went ahead and did the panel with it and wiped it down with IPA. Nothing left behind:

Right side unpolished, this was 1 pass x 2 sections size:

The spoiler isn't polished but the rear quarter panel is, the paint reminds me of the flat black paints of the Porsches, very soft, yet able to finish down.

The sun was dying down so I snapped some shots without the LSP:

By the time I finished, I was pretty beat. For the LSP, I decided to go with a Poorboys EX-P and then top it off with Pinnacle Souveran since I wanted a deep red look:

Letting Souveran cure:

Some After Shots at the Shell Station:

Some Daytime Afters, cleaned up the windows and then finished it down with Meg's Final Inspection, wheels were left alone.

TRD Exhaust, gave it a nice deep growl:

I hope you guys enjoyed this!

wow! ALways will be one of my favorite cars! Seems like everyone is getting called upon to do some pretty nice and rare type cars lately! That is just awesome!

Very nice work, especially around the decals, I bet those things are getting fragile by now.

Not really this car doesn't sit in the sun, never un-covered outside, and lives in a garage all other times.

Not continuing to make and improve the Supra was the WORST mistake Toyota ever made...they really should have kept this vehicle updated and they'd be in a much better financial situation then they are now.

Back on topic, awesome job on the detail. Looks like a bit of water etching in the hood, but very wet and slimy looking. ;)
