Hi,

I am looking for a professional detailer or a fellow autotopian with a rotary to do some work for me. I have a new black mustang GT that needs some swirls, yes I know it's new, and 3 rock scratches taken out.

any help is appreciated

Hi, I'm new to Autopia and figured I'd give my two cents about using a rotary. The most important aspect of using a rotary is that the CAR AND PAD is clean. I know some people that cut the car while it's dirty, and this cause the dirt to go in the pad that completely tears up the finish. Also, if you are compounding to remove swirls, scratches, or oxidation, it's important to wash the car afterwards. This is because the abrasives are still on the paint, which in turn causes the polish to be completely ineffective because it is cause microscratches from the compound!! Make sure in all cases of rotary buffing that the speed is never faster than 1500RPMs, it's just not worth a new paint job. Good Luck.
