Anyone know the health hazards for 106FF? It dusts a lot and I'm worried that it might be hazardous.

x2 for Aluminum Oxide

That stuff is very dangerous. Be very careful with many wheel cleaners, especially OTC "Aluminum Brighteners" as they often contain HF acid or strong butyl solvents.

Oh, and keep your nails short!

I've had a close call with wheel cleaner. I use an old MF towel to scrub some of the dirt from the rim, and once it splashed a bit of the wheel cleaner onto my forehead :doh

So +1 for eye protection when working with wheel cleaners.

Not that we use them directly in detailing, but guys use bungee cords for lots of things. Long ones can slip out of hands or just let go and the hook can take out an eye or damage it beyond repair.

Long ones are dangerous, short ones are less dangerous, and ropes are safer yet.

+1 for goggles and gloves when using wheel cleaner, and tire dressing.

I'm using blue dew for the tire/wheel well dressing and it's been chewing up the ends of my index finger when mixed with some of the other cleaning chemicals.

I also splashed some wheel cleaner in my eye when I was rinsing and got a strange, clear lump on my eye. Luckily, it was only around for a couple of weeks, but it made me stop and think!

The only way to actually see what is in the products you are using is to see if you can get a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for that product. A lot of manufacturers put the MSDS up on their website.

I wouldn't be scared of Menzerna, considering they have to go through a certain amount of German Chemical Safety. Alot of Detailers have reported no issues with prolonged polishing with Menzerna as well if I recall.

gloves with long cuffs for cleaning wheels as the chemical tends to run down my arm a lot

also use ear buds everytime i use the air compressor
