Safelite autoglass replacement for my BMW?

I have a couple small chips in my glass and figured I'd get them taken care of before I drop my insurance carrier in favor of a better rate elsewhere.

They want to use OEE parts and safelite as an installer and I'm not fully comfortable with that...

Though the reviews seem OK, they are written by people with mostly domestic cars in a lower price range.

I've got a 2003 BMW 540i. It also happens to have rain sensors and the tint at the top of the glass...

Is there any reason not to use these guys? Anything specific to demand?

I guess this isn't a detailing question, but I figure it will get the most milage in here and IS a "product" question.

Thanks in advance.

I am a firm believer in OEM glass. I have seen many issues with non OEM windshields on BMW, especially with the condensation sensor, rain sensor and fitment.

Gopher, Stick with OEM glass not OEE. They are not the same quality, nor held the the same standards and specs. Check with your BMW dealer and ask about quality differences.

Oh no, not this again. Please share with us your thoughts as to why....

Alright. I got a superviosr to sign off on OEM glass and mouldings to avoid any problems. Now I just gotta choose a shop that can do it fast.

OK, you got OEM glass approved. I agree that's what should be done. A suggestion. Find the most reputable glass shop that you can and have the job done indoors rather than in some parking lot.

Not fast, soon. I'm changing insurance carriers and effictive on the 19th, Allstate will take over and I'm dropping Geico. I don't want to have an overlap by having this in the works still. I want to seemlessly transition.

I worked for BMW since 2000 and have seen many customer complaints with things not working right such as rain sensor and condensation sensor. This was always the cause of a non OEM glass being installed. Also have had a lot of fitment problems leadin to leaks and wind noise.
