Sad Realization and a Question

Mentioned this round about ways in posts here and there but over the last three years I've been struggling with a bad back. First they added MS to it (which luckily I don't have) and now it's bad back plus Fibromyalgia. End result is that I'm barely able to work and find it difficult to get around ---have to use a cane now. It's taken a toll on just about everything I want to do but especially detailing. I've been on here more than usual making plans to how I'm going to start the spring detailing season because I can't do much else. Now I'm realizing that even though I have all the tools and supplies I probably won't be able to do much of anything. ONR washes and even OOC cleanings are a chore now.

Wife's SUV looking a bit grimy now and then is ok with me but it really bothers me that I can't do what I wanted to restore the old jag I drive. Now I've just got to figure out how to make the old girl look half way decent and 'preserve' her until I feel better.

So, what can I do that takes little energy but will keep my jag from looking worse? I'm thinking maybe a glaze.

captzippy- Sorry to hear things are going that way, but what can you do, huh?

Fortunately, you bought a *white* car!

Do whatever polishing you can (or don't and in that case don't sweat it). Then I'd go over it with Autoglym Super Resin Polish, an AIO that does some glaze-like concealing (not much, but a bit). Then wax (uh..I mean "seal") it with FK1000P. Wait a few weeks and do another coat after a regular wash. Then you'll be set for a long, long time.

If all that is too much, consider that you can do it panel-by-panel.

IF you simply need to back that down to a lot less, give it a quickie going over with Zaino's AIO and if it looks OK consider topping it with the FK1000P just so you don't have to mess with it for a while, or just plan to redo the ZAIO after a couple months.

If you just want to keep up on the ONR washes, coating the car with Opti Coat may be a good way to keep your maintenance to a minimum.

Thanks Accumulator

Got mostly optimum stuff left and it don't conceal nuthin' :( Definitely think I'll have to go panel by panel. Do have a bottle of Prima Banana Gloss and Hydro and Prima generally conceals pretty well. Probably give it a go.

Got some Opticoat (if it's still good) but I've resisted using it because I didn't want to 'seal in' the swirls. It would keep them from getting worse though. I wonder if one of the 'less permanent' nano-thingamigigy sealants would help.

Simple, he is as old and beat up as I am. It's a 3 hour drive and I got a not used, small guest room (he brings the booze), we work it out so when I am around, got a couple of days, he drives it up here.

Us old guys do what we can and it's done.

It's really not rocket science, it's knowing process/procedure, after some diagnois of what really needs to be done, what can be done and doing it.

Are there any Autopians in cptzippy's area that can help him out?

If you "really believe" that I drink Ripple, just stay in Leavenworth!

Jack Daniels Black to start with, and I got the aqua and ice.

I meant what I posted, just make sure the weather is good if you drive up.

My "shop-garage" don't allow no vehicles in it, we would be working under the car port or the (my favorite way of doing things for decades) under the shade tree.

LOL!

Bring it on, you got your old age concerns, and I got a bad back, old son of gun, but bet we could get it on the right track, for "no cost" to you, other than the libations.

(plus there is something about old farts doing things other than talking about "bling wheels" and "slamming the car" sort of things.)
