S100 Separated?

LOTA OT

OK, detailed my car a few weeks ago when the weather here in NJ had just gotten nice. I forgot to take my S100 out of the car and the temp plunged into the 30's overnight. I went to wax again this past weekend and I noticed something wierd in the S100. There is a distinct "ring" in the wax now. The inner circle is whiter than the more yellow outer ring.

I figured what the heck, might as well try it out. All looked and worked fine, but when it rained the other day, the beads were much bigger than normal.

Is this jar toast now?

Here's a pic. Sorry for the wierd coloring, but I had to mess with the exposure to get the "ring" to show up.

maybe just the outside part froze. Does the inside look like it used to be? It is my guess that the outside wax froze and just got pushed around to look differently, and didn't really change much. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

You have changed the molecular structure of the car in the carnauba. Without the car being a certain way the rest of the nauba won't mix properly and the result will be melting your paint off. I'm suprised the jar hasn't disintegrated yet. You are wearing a radiation suit when you take the lid off, right? Make sure you don't look directly at the wax without polarized lenses. Preferably don't look at it unless you have a welding hood on or something like that. :p j/k I have no idea what happened. Try taking a picture of it with more natural light and it might show up better. The wax is probably just tinted a bit. I doubt you've harmed it. :xyxthumbs

Sorry the pic is so yellow, but I had a really hard time getting the "ring" to show up.

I did give it a try though. Washed, clayed, preped with GEPC via PC and then the application and removal of S100 wax were just as normal. I thought the result were normal as well with a great shine and super slick, but when it rained recently, the beads were larger than normal and not quite as uniform. The beading was the only reason I doubted the integredy of the wax.

I think I'll probably get another jar anyway. Too bad, I only had 4-5 cars on this one.

Thanks,

Michael

Hope you don't mind. But I took the liberty to steal your pic and play around with it in photoshop, to see if I can get the ring to show up a little better.

Not sure if it helped.

Cool AuroraV8, thanks, that definitely looks better (at least to me). Aside from the basics, I'm pretty bad with Photoshop and have still yet to master my digital at low light levels and correctly capturing colors.

Thanks again,

Michael

shake it out of the jar and cut it in half. It could just be the top layer is dried out a bit. If the color goes all the way through then you know its more than just a crusty top layer. The two halves will just melt back together in the jar. It might be interesting to see the inside of that chunk to see how far the discoloration goes.

Maybe I can be of some assistance, here. Just send the entire jar to me..I'll use it and if it's OK, I'll post a response here.

Glad I can help.
