Well,

I just got done with my first LOCAL detail, a black Ford F-150! I know the guy who owns it; he takes good care of it, waxing every few months and washing weekly. The problem was, the people who owned it before him didn't. He's been using Zymol Carbon, and was mad at how streaky and hard to remove it was, and all for just an "okay" shine. He just asked me to work on the paint and bumpers only! He did the wheels, tires, and interior before he brought it over!

So, I washed it, clayed with Zaino Z-18 and Mothers Showtime(as a lube), polished with Einszett Paint Polish, and topped it off with a nice coat of s100.:xyxthumbs

This took me approx. 4 hours. He left the price up to me; whatever I thought I deserved, he would pay me! So, now my problem is how much would you guys charge this guy?? Remember, it was only an exterior detail! Thanks! Here are some pics(sorry my digital isn't as good as some others' ). Oh well, enjoy:

Nice job. Looks great. :bigups

I agree with Bret. I would shoot for $75. That's a pretty large vehicle.

Nice work. Great reflection. :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

If its the price and you really don't know how much to charge, then i guess to be fair to you and your friend, just compute for the actual usage of the products you used and add a little for your labor. Just my 2 cents worth.

I would charge him at least $85-95 for the exterior detail (labor and materials), then offer him a discount if he becomes a repeat customer.

Wow!:bow

Thanks for all the compliments, guys!:p It's always great when someone gives me a black vehicle to detail!:D

Anyways, I told him I thought $50-60 would be fair, and he said 'okay', but then gave me $90!!:shocked

I gave him $40 back, but he insisted I keep it!

Wow, I guess he was really impressed! Oh, and he also asked me where he could get some s100! Always great to create a novice Autopian!:xyxthumbs

What a nice person!

But you deserved it! That paint looks GREAT!

If you feel really bad about getting that much cash, what I would do is buy $20-$30 worth of MF towels and give it to him.
