S100 carnauba wax over polymer (again)

My plan is to continue to use zaino as a base coat protection on my vehicles for its long term durability, and then use the s100 wax on top for additional protection, and its great appearance. It is also very straight forward and quick to use.

Given that approach, is there any logical role for the s100 "shine enhancing cleaner" ? Would its use be pointless on top of zaino? Would it any any way be detrimental to the zaino?

I've read many very positive threads about s100 (and the idential p21s product) on autopia, but can't find the answer to this question.

Thanks.

if you use the shine enhancing cleaner OVER the zaino, you'll simply strip the zaino and defeat its purpose. However, if you prep properly before applying Zaino, let the zaino cure for atleast 24 hours before topping, and go at it with just the S100 paste, you'll be fine. No adverse effects come from topping zaino that I've noticed. :up

guys, thanks for the feedback. while most folks appear to do the s100 over zaino thing to obtain enhanced deepth, I think I'm going to do this to obtain and maintain a little additional layer of protection for the paint over the winter when it is not always possible or easy to do the zaino thing.

with s100, you can address a spot here or a panel there in a matter of minutes

thanks again, I thought the cleaner might just remove the zaino, now I have confirmation.:xyxthumbs

Hi,

My findings in Zaino Topping over a year ago.

Z + Carnauba = The canceling of eaches attributes.

Zaino looses it's Candy Coating and Carnauba looses it's warmth.

Just my observation! Spent many $$$$ testing and combining.

Zaino alone should hold up just fine over the winter. Z7 and QDing will keep it strong.

I couldn't agree more. I wasn't happy with how carnauba looked when topped on a Zaino base. I prefer ZSCP all by itself or the glaze/carnauba combo all by itself. I think the carnauba topper route works best with either Klasse or Blackfire.

My Zaino is hurting now, just doens't bead like it used to. I was going to top it with carnauba, but I guess I should just add another Z layer.

FWIW, my Zaino has been on the car for 4 months now. It is almost gone, but the decrease it beading was not gradual. Most of the loss has occured in the last month.

Zaino does not recommend any topper.
Zaino doesn't recommend microfiber towels, or foam applicators, or application by machine, either . . . I've used all of the above, and used S100 as a topper, all with great success.

The only caveat is that the wax layer will have to be removed prior to applying more Zaino; other than that, it was a fun trip to the carnauba side. :xyxthumbs
