Rust proofing fluid clean-up

I had my car rust proofed and as expected, the fluid gets everywhere/drips/runs. I'm going to let the car stay the way it is for a few days but I want to clean it up/re-wax it. I found out later the guy washed it with a sponge. Not too swirly to my eye, but I don't have any rotary polisher so I'll have to try by hand. What's the best way to attack the fluid run-off on the paint? It's not corrosive by any means but its petroleum based.

Solvent. While I like AutoInt's New Car Prep, you can use PrepSol/etc. or, often/usually, even tar remover. Citrus cleaners can work but solvents are a lot quicker, easier, and cleaner.

I rustproof my own stuff and solvents take it right off. See if your local autobody/paint supply store has PrepSol in quart bottles, it's handy stuff to have around.

I'm kinda surprised the shop didn't give you a little bottle of solvent. Back when I paid others to do such stuff they always gave me some for cleanups. Maybe you could call them up and ask for some...they probably have a huge drum of it and they'd never miss a pint or so. Might be worth it to them to keep you, the customer, happy ;)
