Rust on stainless and swirls on tonneau cover

I'm starting to get rust on my exhaust and I have some (understatement) scratches on my tonneau cover where the key lock is. Do you think that using ScratchX 2.0 will help to eliminate the scratches? Can the product also be used for the exhaust? your water pictures dont show up and i dont know a remedy for the SS but out of experience SS Oven cleaner helps prevent rust on SS
 
I have Magnaflow exhaust tips and I use "Simichrome" polish to keep them looking like new. It is available at any Harley Davidson dealer.
I polish them with Simichrome about every 2-3 months.

I also like Mothers Billet Aluminum Polish.

I've never used a machine on them.

For the scratches, you can use any good polish by hand, it just takes longer than by machine.
 
Pipes-Blue magic metal polish is pretty strong. Wear some gloves as it has a strong ammonia smell. If it does not work by using an older cotton towel, try some #0000 steel wool with the blue magic.

You can get the blue magic at just about any parts store.
 
I found a solution for my rusty exhaust tip. A friend of mine gave me some Optimum Metal Polish to try. I used it on my wheels and it did an awesome job of making them shine. After admiring the shine it produced, I decided to try it on my exhaust. Was I blown away with the results!! Not only did it make the SS shine, but it also removed some of the oxidation from it!! I didn't have to put alot of effort into it, just a few (4 or 5) light to medium pressure passes and that was it. Afterward I buffed it with a polishing cloth and that was it. As soon as I find my camera I'll post some pics of it. I'm definitely starting to get sold on Optimum. :)

WoW, ]i've never seen rust like that on SS. I had a black spot on my Corsa Exhaust tips, and i couldnt get it off, Until i read a post by Todd on the Orange Lambo and i saw he used Mothers metal polish on the tips. So i tried it and it works great, rub it on until the stuff turns black on your towel, and wipe off clean and presto, clean as a whistle.
