Rupes Duetto in action

Last Sunday I was a little bored ;) and I decided to try and test the complete Rupes system using Duetto machine.

Wet sanding (X-cut in 2000 and 3000 grid), cutting (Zephir, foam and MF and wool), polishing (Keramik, foam and MF) and finish (Diamond, foam) on a test black mettalic (or pearl) bonnet from a VW Polo. Very hard clearcoat.

My test bonnet already passed many tests and is in a deplorable state. It was really brutally treated, including rubbing it with metal kitchen dish cloth. It is covered with a large amount of very deep scratches, for which the sandpaper with 2000 grid is much too little. The purpose of the test was not delete all scratches, but try the Rupes system available to me (I do not have the strongest X-cut pads in gradation 1500).

Small additional comment:

All cutting techniques (used in this test) give the same effect when it comes to removing scratches in almost exactly the same time. Differed in surface finishes and comfort.

IMO:
The best finish and the worst comfort: blue foam pad
Good finish and good comfort: blue MF pad and LC wool pad (purple).
Poor finish but good comfort: longhaired wool pad (white)

Wool pads are very comfortable on angles. It's harder to stop rotation (compared to foam and MF) in these problematic areas.

Keramik and yellow foam pads finishes better than yellow MF pad (on this paint).

Diamond is a very nice finishing/jeweling polish and white pad is super soft and easy to work with.
 
I would like your feedback between the foam pad and microfiber pad.

Given how much compound is required to prime the microfiber pad, I feel it is more 'economical' to use the foam pad instead. What do you think?

I believe in your video, you used foam at speed 5 and microfiber at speed 4. Does the microfiber finish in lesser passes?

Yes, foam (blue one) is more 'economical' but MF pads are much more comfortable to work with.

Yes, speed about 5-5,5 for foam and wool and 4-4,5 for MF.

And as I said before:
