Rubber on the Exhaust

My good friend was showing me a spot on his pipes where he accidentally rested his boot against. There is now a mark where the rubber melted to the hot pipes. Any suggestions on how to remove this? My first though was S100 wheel gel since it is PH safe, and me not knowing what finish he has, did not want there to be any adverse affects. Maybe even something as simple as goo-gone? Sorry, no pictures.

Thanks!

I had this problem on a bike I did, I ended up using Mothers Mag polish. With a little rubbing with a cotton rag it came right up.

Did you fix it man? I dropped a microfiber on my old chrome pipes and could never get it off. Those pipes are gone now though.

He wasn't in church today, so I didn't ask. We usually have 10-15 bikes on a nice Sunday leave for dinners and dives all over West Michigan after the morning service. I will usually chat for a while then, but I want to say he was hunting today.... :)

I will check with him when I get a chance. I did pass the information onto him though, thanks for checking.

I bet AG carries it!

LOL. I do like AG, however, the above post was just short of spam. If you want to add value to the conversation, how about some facts or situations where you've used it, it might make the post more credible instead of just a sales pitch.
