Rubber Cleaner

Hi, I'm looking for a rubber cleaner. I'd like something that can used on tires, exterior and interior rubber and trim. I think the point of the Rubber Cleaner is to remove dead rubber and prepare it for dressing.



I've searched forums a bit and came across EF Rubber Cleaner and Griot's Rubber Cleaner, I'm sure there are others I've missed. I'm looking for a pure cleaner, not a one-step clean and protect product. In fact, I'd like a rubber cleaner that strips off any protectant. Will diluted APC work just as well? Would like any opinions on the best products.



Also, what type of brush (or towel?) would be used on items such as exterior trim, interior items, rubber mats, tires?

Griot's is very, very mild, so I'd go with the EF instead. I use either brushes or a sponge, depending on the material in question and how aggressive I want to get.
 
You could also try a slightly diluted APC if you already have it. A citrus/orange d-limonene based APC would probably be safer to use than something like Castrol's super degreaser APC which has a high concentration of sodium hydroxide and is very alkaline.

I just recently used it and couldn't believe the CRAP that came off my tires. I diluted it 50/50 as recommended on the bottle and then sprayed it on and instantly started breaking down the layered tire sprays I had previously used. I rinsed it off and then put Poorboy's Bold n Bright on and my tires have never looked better.
 
No doubt. HT Tire cleaner is amazing. Dirt you can't see gets pulled out. Much better than using a general wheel cleaner or APC. Literally it looks as if it sucks dirt out of the rubber pores. Amazing stuff.
 
Thanks everyone! Well, I think I'm going to give Mothers Tire & Rubber Cleaner a try, the description matches what I was looking for.

This sounds great--but how aggressive is it on LSP? What kind of care do you have to take around your wheels? TOL says you can spray and rinse it...so I would presume it will take the wax/sealant off your wheels, as well. Or do you guys use this only when you are doing periodic cleaning rather than weekly?
